West Virginia Revisited
We enjoyed WV so much on July 4th weekend, that we returned for Labor Day. The weather was beautiful other than some rain on Friday. The temps were definitely cooler and I found myself in a sweatshirt. We hiked the Long Point Trail which we wanted to do last time, but didn't have enough time. It was a spectacular view and a nice trail with lots to see and do. We also spent quite a bit of time at Babcock State Park which we also didn't have time for on our last trip. Of course, the Glade Creek Grist Mill is a major attraction for tourists and photographers. Lots and lots of photographers stalking the mill. It is a working mill and we bought fresh ground corn meal that was ground the Friday before we arrived. The gentleman in charge of the mill explained and demonstrated the process, and it was very interesting to be reminded of the amount of work that used to go into producing something so simple that we now take for granted. We found some better food on this trip as well. The best eating seems to definitely be in Fayetteville. Thanks WV for another great weekend!
